Façade revitalization

Renovation while building remains in use

Installing a new, intelligent façade around an outdated building while the building remains in use? The façade revitalisation concept of Blitta allows just that! In the large cities offices measuring many thousands of square metres are currently vacant. They can no longer be let as they are technically and economically dated and they do not have the appeal possible new users would expect. For the same reasons the threat of vacancy also looms for a large group of buildings built some twenty to thirty years ago.

Blitta developed the façade revitalisation concept to restore the appeal of these older buildings and make them profitable again. It allows installation of a new façade without having to demolish the entire building interior. Thanks to the use of prefabricated elements the inside requires just a minimal rebuild (and therefore minimal investment) to have the façade tie up with existing ceilings, floors and walls. The entire façade can be renovated, while the building remains in use. Façade revitalisation is not just a means to give a building more allure, it also enables the addition of all kinds of innovative functions to the façade, such as climate control, fire retardancy, energy generation, solar control and regulation of the incidence of light.

At present Blitta, in conjunction with Delft Technical University and an installation counsellor, is examining the façade revitalisation of its own office building. This renovation serves both an aesthetic and a functional purpose: climate control integrated in a prefabricated façade. It allows the user of the office to control the climate in his own office space. Are you interested in this development, please feel free to contact us. We will gladly inform you of the possibilities and can work out a remedy for your own premises without obligation.
